Route of the Romanesque makes more than 2,500 books available for consultation

07-02-2024

The Centre for Romanesque and Territorial Studies, promoted by the Route of the Romanesque since 2011, has a library with more than 2,500 books, which can be consulted and requested at the Romanesque Interpretation Centre in Lousada, from Monday to Friday, free of charge.

This bibliographic collection, the result of acquisitions, donations and gifts, specialises in Romanesque heritage, art history, local history, tourism and regional development.

The library also has a wide range of other editions, including periodicals, studies, technical reports, school and university papers, multimedia, postcards, brochures, maps and a digital archive with more than 1,050 items.

Furthermore, since 2019, the Centre for Romanesque and Territorial Studies institutional repository has made available more than 70 digital documents produced as part of the research and scientific studies carried out by the Route of the Romanesque. In 2023, this repository received 2,050 downloads from 64 countries.

The production and dissemination of knowledge, which is crucial to understanding the Romanesque legacy of the Sousa, Douro and Tâmega regions, is one of the structuring objectives of the Route of the Romanesque.

The Centre for Romanesque and Territorial Studies embodies this desire and is a strategic link in achieving this goal, through its specialised library and institutional repository, as well as the support it provides to students and researchers in their studies.
